▷ Synopsis
There is a man walking towards the snow-capped mountains. He just got out of his dark basement and is now going on his last trip. But he encounters unexpected situations in the mountains where he decided to die. This film follows the last day of his life from an external point of view.
눈 덮인 산을 향해 걸어 가는 한 남자가 있다． 어두운 지하실을 빠져나와 마지막 여행을 떠나는 남자． 영화는 남자가 산에 올라 목을 맬 때 까지 그가 왜 죽으려고 하는지 알려주지 않은 채 멀리서 그를 관조한다． 나무에 목을맨 남자가 미동도 없이 멈추면 화면역시 어둠으로 침묵한다．
▷ Director’s note
The introduction is very unkind on purpose. It doesn't show where the man is going or what he is worried about. The audience begins to assimilate the feelings of the protagonist after all experience the same death at the theater. And, last narration of the protagonist, they will make reflection. It is because they would find themselves bored seeing the grief of others. Finally, This movie is dedicated to parents who have watched their children depart this world.
이 영화는 관객에게 의도적으로 불친절하게 만들어졌다. 주인공이 어디로 가는지, 어떤 고민을 하고 있는지 전혀 설명하고 있지 않는다. 관객이 주인공의 감정에 동화되기 시작하는 것은 극장에서 주인공과 동일한 죽음을 경험한 이후다. 그리고 주인공의 마지막 나레이션은 그들을 반성하게 할 것이다. 주인공의 슬픔을 보며 지루해했던 자신의 모습이 타인의 슬픔에 공감하지 않는 현실의 모습을 투영하고 있기 때문이다. 마지막으로, 이 영화를 어린자녀를 먼저 보낸 세상의 모든 부모님들께 바칩니다.
